Border Collies come in various coats. They can have a very short coat called  smooth coat, to a medium coat and finally the long flowing coat, also referred to as rough coat. There's also, curly coats, wavy coats and straight coats. There's  different textured type of hair too. The thinner, fine, silky hair, others have the very plush coat, still some have the thicker courser hair.
